Nappy Styles

There are three main types of washable nappy: flat, all-in-one and shaped.

Flat Nappies are the cheapest option, the quickest to dry and require a separate waterproof cover.

Terry Squares, still incredibly popular,  are now available in white, unbleached and organic cotton and fasten with a nappy nippa, so no pins needed!

Prefolds are rectangular nappies which fold into a pad. In a range of sizes they can be mixed and matched to fit any baby’s bottom.

Shaped Nappies are shaped to fit, fasten with poppers or velcro and require a separate waterproof cover. They are available in a range of sizes to give a great fit as your baby grows, or birth-to-potty one size which adjust to fit babies of all sizes.

Stuffable pocket nappies with pocket opening at the back for removable absorbent inserts with soft waterproof outer and popper adjustments for a perfect fit. Available as birth to potty or small medium and large sizes. Very quick to dry.

All-in-One Nappies have the waterproof cover attached to the absorbent layer. These can be an expensive option for a full-time system as you will need different sizes as your baby grows, but it is great for convenience, especially for childcare or night- time use.

Or as an occasional alternative....

Compostable nappies - available from some retailers are either a washable wrap with a compostable pad, or a disposable nappy with some compostable content. Ideal for holiday or occasional use if home composting.
