How to use

Cloth pads can be washed with nappies, or with other washing, although some women choose to put them through a rinse cycle in the machine before adding to the load. They can either be added to your nappy bucket, or kept in an ice-cream tub which sits unobtrusively under the U-bend of the loo, washable pads just need soaking in water prior to tipping in the washing machine. Women who prefer internal protection, or who are very environmentally concerned, may choose to create less waste altogether and opt for the extremely eco-friendly Mooncup. You can use washable cloth pads or a menstrual cup or a combination of these with disposables.

The Women’s Environmental Network has info on how to make and wash your own cloth pads.
